A service was held in his memory at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Community Presbyterian Church in downtown Pismo Beach. He was laid to rest at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
Frank was born February 26, 1921 to Frank E. and Edna McKeown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Frank lived in San Luis Obispo county for the past 28 years and graduated from UCLA in 1951 with a bachelors degree. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1943 and was a captain and member of the Marauder B26 Bomber Squadron. Frank earned a Purple Heart for his bravery in a plane crash, which went down over Europe during WWII and was later honorably discharged in 1958. Of his many accomplishments, Frank founded Pace-Line Inc., a bicycle parts distribution company in 1972 where he still enjoyed working part-time with his son and family until his passing. In his spare time Frank loved to do research work, fish, golf and spend time with his family members.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Christine McKeown; daughter Diane Smith of Colville, Washington; son Dennis McKeown of Arroyo Grande, CA; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association,
